We are actively seeking highly motivated students from any university and academic background who are eager to learn, grow, and make meaningful contributions through research. Whether your interest lies in theory, experimentation, computation, or a combination of these, our lab offers a unique environment to acquire new knowledge, skills, and experience. While Goda Lab is based in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tokyo’s School of Science, our research is highly interdisciplinary, and we enthusiastically welcome applicants from diverse fields, including (but not limited to) physics, biology, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, and even the humanities (e.g., sociology, education, or law).

We cultivate an inclusive, international, and intellectually stimulating research environment characterized by collaboration, openness, and mutual respect. Students in Goda Lab engage in interdisciplinary research, actively collaborate across fields, and are encouraged to explore both academic and industrial career paths. Many students also pursue entrepreneurial ventures based on their research, and we support their efforts to translate scientific discoveries into real-world impact through startup incubation and innovation.

If you are interested in joining Goda Lab as a graduate student (Master's or Ph.D. level), please send a brief email introducing yourself along with your CV to Prof. Keisuke Goda. For detailed information about the graduate admissions process at the School of Science, please refer to the official admissions page.

Financial support is available to most students through various university and government-sponsored scholarship programs. If you would like to be considered for financial assistance during your graduate studies, we recommend exploring the following funding opportunities: FoPM, MERIT, SPRING GX, GSGC, Q-STEP, and MEXT.

The majority of graduate students in Goda Lab receive financial support through one or more of these programs. We are committed to helping our students succeed not only academically, but also financially, professionally, and personally.
